during my exit from the jws, i went through three stages of being free from the meetings.
stage 1: going to the meetings, but disliking it.. stage 2: stopped going to the meetings, but remembered every day that i was supposed to be going to the meeting.. stage 3: "oh yeah!
thursday's a meeting night!
After 30 years I think I'm on stage 5 , cant remember what a meeting is for .......and thats a good thing !

i was an elder many years and only sat in on one case of marital infedilty.
since there was a confession in this instance.
we didn't need to know anything about the "act" (and none of us really wanted to know).

i feel we all start healing at different speeds depending on how much hurt we went through in exiting ; and how much we've educated ourselves about how and why we were sucked in by a mind control cult.
at first i felt anger towards the organization , but after learning about mind control within 3 years of leaving the cult i felt sorry for those who are still trapped inside the witnesses being deceived.
I'd like to express my admiration and respect to Mr. Flipper for his caring and compassionate work that he has put forth
on this forum, your honest portrayal as a warm and compassionate person is admirable and the mark of a true humanitarian.
A role model for others to take notice and follow to be sure.

first one in at least 5 years.......wife does not want to sit in and i just told her if she does not, then i am not either.....this loss of faith thingy has really been rough on our marriage.......i have decided to not bring up a single issue i have........i will relate to them my illustration of the taxi driver who keeps giving out bad directions i posted yesterday.......i think what will surprise them maybe is that my loss of faith goes way beyond wt.......i have lost virtually faith in the bible and god......one has already told the "first place to start is to get going to the meetings again!"....lmao!!!.........
i hope their programed brains can grasp that maybe you need faith in a god first.....then find out what method (or book) he is using to educate us if he wants to....and then if you feel the need....look around to find out if there is a group of folks who all have similar beliefs.........this should be interesting...........oompa.

Should have told them you've identified the commercial aspect that spurred the formation of the WTS
as one reason to not be associated with this organization and their stated doctrines have been established to support
the circulation of literature.
You have to be aware of their tactics, such picking people that you knew closely as the ones that do the shepherding.

I was born and raised a JWS, just a regular JWS gave talks, service and so forth . Out now for some 30 years haven't been
to any kind of meeting since then. Still have some family in , and those ones I'm not particular close to but thats typical with
this religion as its been noted. I 'd have to admit I had some rough times mostly in my 20's but thats to expected, growing up is a process.
My interests to date are so far and away from anything to do with religion as you can probably tell by my posts.
Lets face it folks the JWS is a sickening mental disease thats lose and roaming around and is capable of attacking unsuspecting and innocent
individuals. So I've come here as a type of antidote to this most dangerous virus and to cure and heal the infection that it causes.
